Five Card (5 Card) Draw
is a draw variant of poker. Players will hold and discard cards, replacing them with cards in the deck.
HORSE is an acronym that includes 5 different poker variants. They are: Hold’em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz (Stud Lo), Stud (Stud Hi), and Eight-or-Better (Stud Hi/Lo).
Razz is a form of Stud Poker. In the ranking system for this game, straights and flushes do not count against a low hand.
In 2-7 Triple Draw, players receive their own individual 5-card hand. And they have not one, but three draw attempts to make the best “low” hand.
In 5-Card Omaha, instead of being dealt four hole cards, each player receives five. They can only use two of the four to make the best hand.
This poker variant falls under the “draw” and “Lowball” poker families. But Badugi uses a unique hand ranking system to determine the best hand.
In Chinese poker, players each receive13 initial cards. They must divide these cards into three different poker hands, attempting to make the best/highest-ranked holdings.
In Short Deck poker, all deuces, threes, fours, and fives are removed from the deck – leaving 36 cards. This difference can result in a more action-packed game.
